How to Choose the Right Cable Conveyor for a Power Construction Project


Cable size, route length, bend count and site conditions all affect conveyor selection. This practical checklist helps project teams choose a safe and efficient configuration.

Selecting a cable conveyor starts with the cable itself. Record its outside diameter, unit weight and minimum bending radius, then compare those values with the conveyor’s clamping range, rated traction and belt material.

Next, map the route. Long straight runs normally require evenly spaced machines, while bends, gradients and tunnel entrances may need shorter spacing or additional guiding equipment. A synchronized control system is recommended whenever several conveyors work on the same pull.
