Daily checks should cover the hook latch, lifting chain or wire rope, control pendant, limit switch and emergency stop. Any unusual noise, slipping brake or damaged insulation should be investigated before the hoist returns to service.
At scheduled intervals, inspect brake wear, gearbox lubrication, fasteners, bearings and load-bearing components. Clean ventilation paths and electrical enclosures so heat and dust do not shorten motor or contactor life.
Record inspections and repairs for each machine. Maintenance frequency should increase in high-duty, dusty, wet or corrosive environments, and load testing should follow local regulations and the manufacturer’s instructions.
